earthy notes. Made from Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, and Muscat Bailey A. A perfect

with Chinese dishes and spicy Asian ethnic dishes.

DAI ICHI GAKUSHO (English Name) (750ml)
Our Dai Ichi Gakusho is a wine made from the traditional Japanese red wine
grapes Muscat Bailey A and Black Queen. The vineyards are pruned severely,
yielding intensely concentrated grapes. This, combined with our hands-on,
traditional wine making, make for a truly unique wine. Aged in oak barrels,
the wine exhibits a deep purple color and very intense aromas, with rich
berry characters and hints of spice, musk, and orange peel. The taste is
full and long, with a lingering acidity and a slight refreshing bitterness.
Best with powerful dishes including duck with a fruit sauce, stew of beef
or boar, and strong cheeses.

The wine is made from partially dried Koshu grapes, in homage to the powerful, rustic Vin Santo (Sainted Wine) wines produced in Italy. This golden colored wine is very formidable, with an aroma of vanilla and dried fruits. A honied richness and a nutty complexity, with a long refreshing finish of vanilla and apricots. This is a luxurious after dinner wine.
